Bathroom Blitz: The First Public Release Built with the Otherside ODK

Over the past few years, MSquared has worked closely with Yuga Labs to scale and evolve Otherside into a metaverse platform capable of supporting thousands of users in shared, large-scale environments. Our technology has helped power key moments in the platform’s development, including First Trip, Second Trip, and more recently, the fast-paced combat showcase, Project Dragon.

At the centre of this collaboration is the Otherside Development Kit (ODK) — a creator-first toolset built on MSquared’s technology. Designed to make world building accessible without complex networking code, the ODK supports custom avatars, interactive gameplay, spatial audio, on-chain interactions, and full multiplayer synchronisation at scale. It gives creators the tools to build their own playable experiences inside Otherside.

This week saw the first public release built using the ODK: Bathroom Blitz, developed by Command Line, is an 8v8 third-person shooter set in a stylised version of the BAYC bathroom, where players, shrunken down to miniature size, compete across cubicles, sinks, and stalls in fast-paced rounds. It’s the first always-on, community-developed experience on Otherside, and a key milestone in making the platform creator-driven.

Yuga Labs has been clear about its ambitions. Otherside will continue to be shaped by the community. While they will continue to build flagship experiences, the same tools, assets, and systems used by their internal teams are being opened up to everyone. That includes access to the ODK, avatar support, growing libraries of 3D assets, and soon, tools for monetisation and distribution.

Bathroom Blitz is an exciting first step toward that vision, showcasing the quality and creativity that’s possible when world-class tools are placed in the hands of creators.
